Apples pressing for cider
The central-elastic-membrane pneumatic press Softpress is particularly convenient to process grape juices, but its features make it suitable also to press apples, pomegranates and fruits in general.
The press Softpress is a discontinuous membrane press working at low pressure.
It is necessary that apples are sent to the press after cutting them with a chopper, preferably in 3-8 mm side pieces (instead of paste).
Performance features
The loading capacity is approximately:
80-90% of the capacity of the cage when feeding from the door with the cage stopped;
1.0-1.2 times the capacity of the cage with axial feeding by pump and with cage in rotation.
The yield varies from a minimum of 65% to a maximum of 80% depending on the type and ripeness of the apples.
The pressing time varies according to the quality of the apples:
from 2 h 30 min. for easy apples,
to 4 h 30 min. for difficult apples
The performance features listed above refer to apples pressing without enzymatic treatment.
